Todays image shows the old Dovecote at Home Farm at Temple Newsam, the farm is a working rare breeds farm. The oldest parts date from the 1690’s but many different buildings have been added over the years.
The building shown is large enough to hold 1200 breeding pairs of birds. The farm was closed on my most recent stroll around ‘the park’ but I managed to sneak a photo of this impressive old building over the perimeter wall.
