Today was one of the most pleasant walks I have had in ‘the park’ this year, me and my canine pal walked for miles and it poured with rain for the whole time. Walking in the rain is not something I make a habit of but on a warm, still day through woodland I find it one of life’s real pleasures.
Towards the end of our walk we ended up at the southern extremity of the Temple Newsam Estate where it is bounded by the M1 motorway. At this point we are fairly central in England roughly half way between London and Edinburgh.
I was there a few weeks ago but what a difference a day makes! Then it was sunny and warm ‘the park’ was packed, I was hassled by muppets on off-road motorcycles and a little stressed. Today I was soaked but the ying and yang were perfectly aligned!
