As soon as I took this photograph I knew it would be my image of the day for this feature on Temple Newsam Park.
I really like Gunneras but have had varying results with them in my own garden. Well actually not varying results I have killed four so far!
The clump by Menagerie Ponds are lovely and I have been trying to get a decent photo of them all year, on this occasion the light was just right showing off their magnificent leaves.
The best examples of this plant that I have ever seen were in a valley near St Just in Cornwall they were huge and everywhere!
